Ides of october

Our ‘Ides of October’ snow storm is gone, down the creeks. The 11” of heavy snow was gone in a week. Our power was gone for 6 hours. It’s been more like September than late October since.

That’s been good ‘cause it took us 16 hours on the trail to clean up all the limbs, saplings and deadfall the snow and wind left us. We used nearly every tool we own. For the first time we threw ropes over widow- makers to pull them off from the overhead.

That was just Montreal.

We’ve had our friends living out at Weber Lake do a lot of the same work on the West loops of Uller. Now for the remote parts of the long trail from the T to Pence.

We’ll keep you posted. Join in the fall fun!

We’re all hoping for good cold and good snow. Z
